6. PhD admission requirements

To be eligible for PhD programs at LHU, applicants must meet the following requirements:

(1) Hold a bachelor’s degree with a good or excellent classification, or a master’s degree in a relevant field.

(2) Have at least one publication or report related to the intended field of study published in a scientific journal, conference proceedings, or presented at a peer-reviewed scientific conference within 36 months prior to the application date.

(3) Vietnamese applicants must meet one of the following foreign language requirements:

a) Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree awarded by a foreign institution, where the language of instruction is English or another foreign language.

b) Hold a bachelor’s degree in a foreign language awarded by a Vietnamese higher education institution.

c) Hold an internationally recognized certificate with a minimum score of TOEFL iBT 45 or IELTS (Academic) 5.0, issued by an accredited testing organization within 24 months prior to the application date.

d) Demonstrate the ability to use English in academic and professional communication.

(4) Foreign applicants must demonstrate Vietnamese language proficiency at Level 4 or higher according to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners, or meet the foreign language requirements specified by the University.

(5) Meet additional requirements regarding professional experience and seniority, depending on the specific regulations of each doctoral program as determined by the University.

6. How to apply for a PhD program

- A certified copy of diploma or certificate or a copy enclosed with the original for comparison:

+ University diploma and academic transcript

+ Master's degree and academic transcript

+ Valid foreign language diplomas or certificates

+ Other diplomas or certificates (if any)

- Diplomas and transcripts issued by foreign training institutions must be translated, notarized and recognized by the authority according to the current regulations

- Evidence of scientific research experience - Section (2), 6 copies of published scientific works (bound in volumes, name and list on the cover)

- 1 original and 5 copies of the recommendation letter written by at least one scientist holding the title of professor, associate professor or a doctor of science, doctor who has participated in professional activities with the candidate

- 6 outlines of research plans

- 5 new photographs (3x4cm)

- A health certificate

- A notarized copy of Identification Card
